Superb book, I've used the Machinery Hand Book for years; and whilst this is a good book it's not practical in a grubby workshop environment. This is where black book excells, it's small enough to fit in pocket, can be cleaned and can be laid flat when resting on a machine etc for reference
Pros
As above small enough to fit in pocket yet has all key info I routinely need, i love the fact it can be wiped down
Cons
None that I've identified so far
Awesome book, but missing One thing I needed

I have turned to this book many times. The only thing missing is a direct SAE to Metric table. It is sort of there with the drill tables and so on, but I really most of the time just need a list of all of each and relation in size.
Pros
-Well laid out
-Extensive guild of the none typical
Cons
-The most common is not easy to get to right off
-there is no direct SAE to Metric tables

First edition has vast amounts of information from hardware dimensions, ISO standards, identification. Covers inch, but mostly focused on metric.
Pros
Very well put together and informative.
Cons
The thread pitch card isn't punched out all the way, smaller threads you have to use your judgment.
Wish there was more 50/50 split of inch and metric.

...great pocket reference book.
Pros
...easier than dragging around a machinist textbook. great for the trades, especially for professional maintenance mechanics. also small and compact for portable transfer.
Cons
the one thing i noticed that was missing from the book were types of glazing point fasteners for window panes. also i noticed cut nails were not listed. first edition.
