I have used the Fastener Black Book for about 8 years. I saw it at a business that specialized in Nuts and Bolts when I was a Fabricator/Mechanic in a Truck Shop. I looked it over, and put it on my personal list of things I needed to have. Once I purchased it, I wished I had done so when I first saw it. I use it constantly. I have learned so much about fasteners. Now I am working with CAD and GD&T, and I am using it more than ever in conjunction with the Engineers Black Book.

Packed full of all the fastener information I need, and more. I never stop learning.

I'm old(er) now, and need reading glasses. Some new revised Large Print editions would be very nice.

I’ve always found these books good for identifying unknown nuts and bolts that I come across as a mining engineer. The various torque tables are also useful.

Simplicity

Needs more detail on Whitworth and BS fasteners - there are relatively few sizes and these fasteners are still used in many applications.

Absolutely none.

I always prefer to “bolt” a project together where I can in favour of welding. To find such an amazing array of fasteners and associated information in one handy book puts a smile on my face. Can’t wait to get amongst it. If you can’t find something in this book for every occasion, you probably should have stuck with Lego.

This is a fantastic reference for anyone in the construction/architectural/ project management field-actually, there are very few industries where one would not use fasteners of some type. Granted, there are specialized fasteners out in the field used by obscure industries that would not be covered in a reference such as this. In general though, this is the reference to have on hand. Very glad I bought it.
